How Great Thou Art

So now that you know about some of the coolest shows I’ve seen, I guess I have to choose the best. And I know exactly which one it will be. I would have to say my all time best concert ever was the one where I got to meet my idol. I’m not even kidding, she’s an American Idol.

I’ve been to many a concert during my years as a music lover. Some would probably even call me a little bit obsessed. Okay, I am obsessed with singing, music, concerts, etc. I’ve seen a number of my favorite musicians, so it’s going to be really difficult to pick my favorite, but I’ll hit you with my best shot (yes, Pat Benatar is seriously awesome live).

My Dad and I have been going to concerts together for years. We’ve seen some great bands like Chicago, Styx and his all time favorite, The Moody Blues. He bought a tie-dyed t-shirt with a guitar on it. I totally supported this decision.

Recently, I saw one of my favorite artists Ingrid Michaelson at this really old theater in Wilmington, DE that had just re-opened after 50 years or so. To see one of my favorite artists in this really old, restored theater was unbelievable.  I also had the opportunity to see Fleetwood Mac a couple of years ago. That was an experience unlike any other. It was so crazy to see a living legend like Stevie Nicks perform. I was actually speechless, which is unusual for me when it comes to music.

So now that you know about some of the coolest shows I’ve seen, I guess I have to choose the best. And I know exactly which one it will be. I would have to say my all time best concert ever was the one where I got to meet my idol. I’m not even kidding, she’s an American Idol. Carrie Underwood was crowned the title in 2005 and has been my favorite singer ever since. One of my favorite local radio stations ran a promotion awarding winner tickets to the show and passes to meet Carrie backstage.  Obviously, I’m still a devoted listener.  To this day, I still cannot believe my sister and I got to meet her AND hear her sing LIVE. There is nothing else like it.
