Non Traditional Radio Platforms

Think about radio 10 years ago, think about where you listened to radio that wasn’t an actual radio. You didn’t. Listening was confined to a radio that picked up waves in a small geographic region.

A new golden age of radio is at our doorsteps. With emerging technologies integrating radio to social media, Internet ready car devices, and mobile technologies, this new radio will be more accessible and culturally relevant to the next generation of listeners.

It’s radio without the radio and this is the way the industry is shifting. Think about radio 10 years ago, think about where you listened to radio that wasn’t an actual radio. You didn’t. Listening was confined to a radio that picked up waves in a small geographic region. Whether in your car, home or work, you were listening to what will come to mind 99% of the time someone thinks about the word. Radio towers, radio waves, clock radios and the like, while still very real, are not all that radio does. Not even close.

Radio on your home PC? Got it. Radio on your laptop? Yea there too. Radio transmitted to your car via the Internet, sure throw that in. Radio stations- programmed by you. The radio isn’t what it used to be and it’s time to alter your thoughts of the dated images. The radio is tech savvy, it’s integrated into the most culturally relevant platforms, it’s reaching everyone you want to advertise to and it’s doing it with an efficiency that is exponentially growing as fast as the technology it’s broadcast on.
